Leadership and The One Degree Shift
During my sailingcareer, I have traveled to several ports across the world. Before you start the voyage, you need to do voyage planning. You need to plan a journey from point A to point B. This course is actually a close representation of google maps where for north the course is 000 degrees, east is set for 90 degrees, south for 180 degree and west for 270 degree. Then courses translated onto a navigation chart where the ship has to navigate. If you want to move in a North-East direction, which is at 045 degrees but mistakenly placed it at 046 degree. Your 1 degree mistakes will drift you 60 nautical miles away from the actual destination.
If you continue
to travel further off course, you will be farther from the intended
destination.
Not just in sailing time but in life this “one degree shift” can drift you from
your actual goal for your teams and business. One doesn’t need a lot of
knowledge to go ahead. They need a small action, new habit, thought, which can
be gained over a time making a huge difference.
What you need is
a one degree shift !
A question to
reflect: What is that one single insight or shift in perspective you have had
in recent times, which has made a huge difference in your life ?
